COMING TO RENNES AS A NON-EXCHANGE STUDENT
The University of Rennes-1 registered over 3400 international students (580 exchange students and 2820 as non-exchange students) for study programmes or research projects in 2012-2013. All the courses offered at the university are open to foreign students on condition that they have the required minimum French proficiency.
For forther information on TCF, please consult the official website here.
For students who do not possess this language pre-requisite, they can either follow a preparatory course which will give them access to a Master’s course taught in French the following year, or alternatively, they may choose to study one of the courses taught exclusively in English.
In this section, students will find all the information on the offer of courses, the application process, as well as all the practical information for on and off-campus living.
Although a faculty international coordinator is at hand to advise and inform individual students, it is their entire responsibility to ensure that all the necessary formalities are accomplished before coming over to study. An unwavering determination and a well thought-through career plan are the key to success.
- Think thoroughly about your study and career plan: gather all the information you can about the choice of degree programmes, the French language proficiency required and the other course pre-requisites
- Start preparing your stay well in advance (a year ahead is the recommended norm)
- Contact the faculty’s international coordinator for about the application and enrolment process
- Ensure that all administrative formalities are looked-after before your departure
