Centre Campus

The Centre campus brings together the various humanities and social sciences departments and faculties of the University of Rennes 1 located in the city centre of Rennes: law and political science, economics and management, and preparation for general administration competitions. This campus is also where the university's presidency is located.

Training

The central campus brings together the faculties of Law and Political Science and Economics, as well as IGR-IAE (Rennes Institute of Management) and the IPAG(Institute of Preparation for General Administration). With more than 8,600 students enrolled (i.e. more than 38% of the university's total enrolment), the central campus is the largest training site in Rennes 1.

Research

Most of the host teams (EA) and joint research units (UMR) in the humanities and social sciences attached to Rennes 1 are located on the central campus. Only the host team in the philosophy of norms and the Centre for Research in Archaeology, Archaeosciences and History are housed on the Beaulieu campus.

Info Relay Students

Run by students on campus, trained and employed by the university, the Student Information Points are the place to find all the practical information (CROUS, Caf, mutual insurance companies, STAR, etc.) and good deals (cultural, associative, sporting or scientific events offered by Rennes 1 or by the associations). A place of conviviality and exchange between students, the "PIE" also act as a relay between students and university services.

The Law and Political Science Faculty's Information Point is located in the entrance hall of the faculty. The Info Point of the Faculty of Economics is located in the hall of building 2.

The Presidency is located near the Thabor Park, one of the most beautiful gardens in France. It was built in 1973 in the former Institute of Geology, at number 2 rue du Thabor. It houses the office of the president and his teams, the administrative services and the boardroom where the university's central bodies are held (board of directors, academic council, etc.).
