ERASMUS MUNDUS PROGRAMME

The University of Rennes-1 is a coordinator of the "MaMaSelf" program and a partner of the Europubhealth master program.

Its main objectives are:

  • To offer a course of the highest quality at master level in Europe
  • To promote mobility in Europe for students and high level academics from third world countries
  • To structure cooperation between Europe and third-world countries, as well as to encourage outbound mobility of European students and scholars to these countries
  • To ensure the visibility of European higher education

  

MaMaSelf : A one year European Master’s degree in Material Science

This master aims to build a European platform at university level which has direct links with major governing and research bodies. It also aims to promote close collaborations between the universities, industry and the large governing and research instruments. It is the fruit of the collaboration established within the Erasmus Mundus framework, of four European universities.

The Master’s degree is delivered in two of the four university partners listed below:

  • Université de Rennes-1 in France
  • Universita di Torino in Italy
  • Technische Universität de Munich in Germany
  • Ludwig-Maximilians Universität de Munich in Germany

 
Several organisations with large-scale facilities support the Mamaself program and also actively participate in the organisation of the summer university:

  • The European Synchrotron Radiation Facility in Grenoble - France
  • The Institute Laue-Langevin in Grenoble - France
  • The Laboratory Léon Brillouin in Saclay - France
  • The Paul Scherer Institut, Villigen - Switzerland
  • The Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron in Hamburg - Germany
  • The Forschungsneutronenquelle Heinz Maier-Leibnitz in Munich - Germany
  • Elettra in Trieste – Italy

Europubhealth : A one-year Master’s degree in public health

The program’s main objective is to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to help them contribute to the improvement of the health of the population, whether it being at a specific or global level through:

  • Designing, planning, implementing, accompanying and evaluating of health prevention and health promotion programmes
  • The management of health services as well as the health and social services establishments


The course aims to familiarise students with:

  • methodological approaches and techniques
  • analytical tools
  • concepts necessary for a thorough understanding of public health issues


It is based on the acquisition of academic knowledge and basic savoir-faire related to public health as well as all the necessary skills for the various functions that the students, as future public health professionals, will embrace at the local level, regional, national, European or international, in the public or the private sectors.
Great emphasis is placed on the transmission of in-depth knowledge relating to public health, in order to equip future professionals with the skills needed to exercise their duties fully, whether it be in the public or private sector, or at local, regional, national, European or international level.
