NEED (Neuroendocrine Effects of Endocrine Disruptors) is a research programme sponsored by the French « Agence Nationale de la Recherche » (ANR). It aims at looking at the effects of Endocrine Disruptors onto the neuroendocrine systems. More specifically, NEED focuses on the actions of selected EDs on the development and functioning of the GnRH (Gonadotrophin-releasing hormone) systems in a variety of animals models, namely fish and mammals.
