Continuing education at the University of Rennes 1

As a continuing education student, you will be provided with many services, among which:

  • reception, information and counselling;
  • help for the development of your career path and individual curriculum;
  • accreditation of prior learning in order to obtain a diploma.

Our comprenhensive provision of training includes many trainings granting diplomas and/or professional qualifications:

Provision of continuing education

The department dedicated to continuing education: the Service Formation Continue (SFC)

The service formation continue (SFC) is the university department in charge of organizing, coordinating and managing the activities of continuing education.

The SFC provides a huge provision of training in 11 main subjects:

The SFC team has a strong commitment to help and accompany continuing education students throughout their training. Among other things, they will:

  • welcome, inform, provide educational and vocational guidance and accompany the students. They help them develop their training and career paths;
  • counsel them about their rights and about the funding of their training;
  • process their accreditation of prior learning requests;
  • present them the educational engineering used for each training: organization as regards the contents and methods, assessment and follow-up;
  • help companies to plan training programs.
Continuing education in Health at the DFMC

The département de formation médicale continue (DFMC, department of continuing education in medicine) of Rennes is in charge of promoting activities of continuing education and professional practice assessment organized by the academics of the Faculté de Médecine de Rennes (Medicine department of the University).

Continuing education in Public Administration at the IPAG

Upon request from administrations, the Institut de préparation à l'administration générale (IPAG, Public Administration institute) organizes continuing education sessions (preparations for civil service examinations, public law and finance, updating of the legal knowledge, etc.).
